italian pasta... indian pastry... made by a korean. what more is there to say about this internationally dis-oriented (yup, pun intended) dinner?
this week officially reaches the extent of phil's knowledge on cooking. from here on out, phil will be serving various types of ready-to-make udon, ramen, and frozen-food entrees. nothing says "culinary" like shaking a packet of soup base on top of a dessicated block of noodles drowning in boiling water. (hey, it's all about the timing!)
i went to go watch big fish with youngji at the varsity theatre, in a post-feeding daze. there's such a homey atmosphere to these independently owned theatres that add a certain charm to movies such as these. it was either that, or the single bottle of amstel light in my gut (amstel light being one of 54 of several different types of beers left remaining in my fridge from this past weekend, per request of calorie concious beer-drinkers (ehem! not me!) ).
big fish was quite a refreshing movie. i enjoyed it thoroughly, in sort of a forest-gump story telling meets wizard-of-oz fairy-tailish way. although i hated forest gump. and didn't care too much for the wizard of oz. hrm. but you know, there's something about ewan mcgregor that makes his role in big fish perfect for him. i think it's the fact that i can never break him out of the persona of the heroine addict in trainspotting. which makes all the random, f*cked up things in this movie, well... make sense. i need another hit!
