tri-x 400 @ 400, pentax 50mm f/2 @ f/2.8

i've been extremely busy lately to develop more rolls of film, so i thought i'd post a photo from the recent archives. it's the alternative to the one i posted five entries back, which i prefer to this if i had to choose.

about the photo... you got people, you got trees, you got flags, and a couple kids in the front. what more could you ask? i edited this photo before paul's suggestion on tonality, so the first thing i notice is loss in detail in the older girl's hair. i do like the reflection off her hairband though, as it gives a nice halo effect, which is not to the point of distraction.

i think the next round of photos i'm gonna snap (which won't for another week, unfotunately) i'm gonna try experimenting with different films. first i'll probably move onto tri-x 135 or t-max 100. it'll give much finer grain, thus 'smoother' looking photos. then maybe the ilford hp5 my bro likes to use so much.

about the photo... the last of the photos from last friday's festivities. this was pretty much a macro shot, which is why the stuff in the background is so blurry. i took this to compare it to a "macro" shot i took with my s200 digital compact camera, which had a very-much-in-focus background, thus reinforcing to basic laws of optics to myself (also, refer to this).
