finally, after several months without word, the folks at Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology wrote me back two days ago with an offer. the timing couldn't be any worse, as things are about to take off on both the research and business end here in NC... but i gotta get out of this place, it's driving me nuts!
after getting the okays from the higher ups, i accepted. the internship starts in june (exact date not set yet), and they'll be flying me over and giving me a place to stay, although i'll probably stay at a family friend's since it's close to a language institute i'm considering to enroll in for night classes.
the next two weeks are going to be hell, with a month of work to do in half the time... but man, it's gonna be well worth it. SAIT is an awesome place - its basically an incubator for any ideas you can come up, with resources coming out the wazoo. the sole job of anyone working there is to work on something new and cool before it gets sent off to the marketing division, after which its out of your hands and you work on something completely different. a dream job for an engineer, which warrants one of my bosses a concern that i may not come back
