(btw, the girl with the gun in the first scene says "gimme back my memories")
January 2005 Archives
the best way to get shelves is to make your own! costs less than $7 per shelf, and doesn't look half bad. i added two in my bedroom, and went a head and added a new board to the cheapo console table i bought at target for my receiver.
i was southpoint mall when i passed by the cart-vendors that were selling video games, and one of them was baseball (or i guess asian-baseball) that was reminiscnent of the old Nintendo ES days. i know paul's dying for a copy!
on a picnic w/minae at jordan lake on an amazingly warm day in early january, i must have munched on too much french bread cuz that ain't a good look on my face :p
me, paul, minae and the little one went to the museum of natural history in washington d.c. over the christmas break, and ran into this cute little feller...
one of the many korean "cafe"s in annandale... this one is cafe noir, a bar/lounge for hip 20-somethings (and little children w/ familes, apparently...) ㅋㅋ
actually, i have no clue what these two are doing. i think this was paul's apartment before i dry vacuumed about two pounds of dirt from his dirty carpet... alas, he just moved three floors below into a new unit, so all that was in vain...
i took minae to biltmore estates for her birthday, located in beautiful asheville, north carolina. it's supposedly the country's largest house, owned by some doods named vanderbilt. we stayed at the four-star hotel on the actual estate, which was nothing less than awesome. in return, i made minae buy me a snoozy baby cow, posing below :p
... but i sure look good doing it ^^
minae's probably one of very few people to drag a teddy bear to a dunkin' donuts on new year's eve... needless to say she suffered terrible separation anxiety when we left the city :p
... and i never knew my dad could play piano!
it's been a while since i've played violin, let alone violin-piano pieces with paul... what's up with the korean finger peace sign thingy, paul??
i was sifting through some old files archived on a backup CDs, and ran into this old webpage/journal i used to keep. it's kind of eery with the background music, especially since reading the entries for the first time in five years...
it's a bit 신기 how far i've come in since then. some particularly interesting entries are: 1 2 3
new year's eve was spent at my brother's place in new york city. we rounded up the finest ingredients from across the city to create a very italian (and not to mention heavy) new year's eve dinner. on the menu was a light and tangy risotto, potato gnocchi w/pesto sauce, and penne pasta with a sweet and savory cream of bell pepper sauce.
after lugging a 24" tv uptown to shove in paul's pad, we ended the night with resident evil: apocalypse :p
some photos (taken with a leica rangefinder, f1 lens -- that means lotsa blur, soojin!)

oh, and... HAPPY NEW YEARS!!!
