the kitchen looked kind of cool at night with the overhead stove light on so here it is in all of its awesomest glory

for two weeks, we had the awesome pleasure of taking care of pae's family dog, noodle (who we affectionately renamed as noody-boody). noody is perhaps the cutest, calmest, most laid back dog on this planet. she's a cocker spaniel mix and has some weird neurological afflication that causes her to shake uncontrollable (in a cute way, not scary). this is the second time we've taken care of her, and as always, it was a hoot.

so this year's fourth of july i decided to take the girls out for some fireworks. thanks to the false information from my co-worker (damn you Al!) i thought Wallace Wade stadium at Duke was going to throw a fireworks show. bent on seeing some amazing pyrotechnics, we all headed out early to watch the show at 9pm. ten minutes passed, nothing. thirty minutes passed, still nothing. hrmm.... then far off in the distance, we hear a crackling in the sky, but it wasn't coming from Duke. it was coming from the durham bulls ballpark. argh!! it should have been obvious that me and the ten other people standing there were mis-informed. turns out Duke cancelled their fireworks parade two years ago... oh well, at least i took some pics of the chapel and the empty sky. *sigh*
