korean dunkin donuts is awesome... their eateries are nice and clean, all sorts of donuts are readily accessible, and they have about 15 kinds of donuts you won't find in the states. they really ought to import some of their ideas back here in the US...

An interactive video display was demonstrated at Coex Mall in South Korea where essentially a projector from the ceiling projected an ... all » interactive video on the floor where you could manipulate objects on the screen.

this demo was pretty neat!

in some business district in seoul, minae, minkyung and i went to an indian resteraunt to chow down on some vindaloo and makhani. apparently indian food is really expensive in korea and considered "high class cuisine," which is ironic since everything in india (especially food) is really cheap. anyway, on a somewhat funny note, our waiter looked exactly like my eldest brother, pete. check out the third photo...

august 14th, 2006 marks the second year that minae and i started to date. i can't believe it's already been two years, and just like last year, we decided to retrace our day by going back some of our favorite places in the city of young-tong. since we first met in the neighborhood where minae lives, we decided to walk there...

the very first place that minae and i met was at this cafe called "gahm," which is the chinese character for "feeling." my friend soojin and i, along with minae's sister, minkyung, were waiting for minae to come out and meet us. as the story goes, we hit off quite well and here we are, happily engaged!

a coaster with the cafe's name on it... i hope this place doesn't close down anytime soon...

one of the best resteraunt's we went to was this chain called eric's new york steakhouse. this place makes one of the best steaks i've eaten anywhere, and since food is relatively cheap in korea, the price wasn't that bad either (maybe about $20/person, no tip or taxes needed).

a block away from cafe gahm is eric's steakhouse

me and minae's family took a road trip to the east coast of korea. it's a mountainous area, so we naturally headed toward one. the place we stayed at was right on the coast, but we drove about 60 kilometers southwest to a large mountain called odae mountain (오대산), which is 1.563 km tall. it's been ridiculously hot in korea, so we decided not to walk up the mountain, but instead found a nice stream to play in. it's surprising how clear mountain streams are. below are some pics:
