ryan has this bathroom in the new house he just bought that just sits in the basement with no door. what's even more odd is that the toilet is perched on top of a platform (which i assume was done to accomodate the plumbing), making the headroom about 4 feet tall. but all that didn't stop us from using it... we all took pictures on it at ryan's housewarming party, and i'm proud to say that i work with all these people!

so i decided that i'd spend this christmas as far away as possible from civilization (but within the borders of north carolina). so i'll be heading w/minae for four days at a cabin in a secluded area right at the base of the smoky mountain national park. i can't wait to turn off my cell phone, unplug myself from the internets(TM), and get back to (or rather, into, for the first time) nature.

the cabin that we'll be staying at... pretty!

minae's sister is taking a six months hiatus to sydney, australia to get away from the hectic life of south korea and to improve here english (with a cool australian accent, no less!). minkyung has taken some very pretty photos that i just had to post.

"The much-anticipated top-secret 10th-anniversary Elmo, code-named "T.M.X. Elmo" is finally here - and it's the hysterically laughing, belly-clutching, floor-thumping Elmo.

Fisher-Price, a division of No. 1 toymaker Mattel (Charts), unveiled the new T.M.X. Elmo to the world Tuesday. Elmo fans could face a shortage of the new T.M.X. Elmo over the holidays. (Price:$39.99) T.M.X. is already popping up on eBay." - CNN

"T.M.X." stands for 2 things - "Tickle Me extreme" or "Tickle Me 10," representing the toy's 10-year milestone.

after much tracking w/google earth, i was finally able to find minae's hometown, youngtong. it took me two hours to figure out where she lived, and the only clues i had to go on was the bus route from the samsung research institute i used to take two summers ago and the path from minae's aunt's place i used to take when i drove us around this summer. anyway, check it out below!

within this map is everything from where we first met (cafe gahm), where we saw i-robot,
to the best gimbab nara (sushi-like rolls) resteraunt in the world according to minae's mom.
i've put some numbers up where i took some pictures: 1, 1, 2, 2, 2, 3, 4, 5.
