peter + sarah | coronado island
a bunch of us went out to coronado island to enjoy the beautiful weather this weekend, giving me a chance to take a couple photos of our good friends, peter and sarah. so we took a stroll along the beach as the sun was setting, snapping a handful of photos. below are two of sarah's favorites!

textures | cloth
i got this jacket on sale at the banana republic outlet factory in carlsbad, and, as all my friends will attest, it's become my favorite jacket i've ever owned! i'm not really one to be picky about fashion... my typical attire, at both work and at home, is a t-shirt and a pair of jeans. i guess now that i'm married, though, i s'pose i should start dressing less like a poor college kid. anyway, i took this photo while i was waiting in the car for minae, and kind of like how it turned out!

the girls | cafe venti
there's a new coffee shop on convoy street that opened up called cafe venti. the place used to be a karoake bar, but, for whatever reason, the owner decided to shut that down and start his own cafe. the atmosphere was pretty nice -- lots of nice sofas, tables, and a nice long bar. i gotta admit, though, that the drinks themselves left something to be desired...

canon ef-28 f/1.8 usm
i spent several days trying to figure out whether or not i should get a canon 35mm f/2 for 200 bucks or spring for a canon 28mm f/1.8 usm lens for a much more pricey 400 clams. this lens would round of my collection of a 50mm f/1.8 and a 135mm f/2L lens. in the end, since this lens would be my walking-around lens on my 1.6x cropped dSLR, i really ought to stick with the usm and be much happier with it. so, without further ado, i present to you the obligatory new lens shot!
