"화분" (flower pot) by alex chu
from ongoingmelody's blog:
Alex passionately sang Loveholic's Flowerpot for Shinae on MBC's reality show We Got Married. He later produced a studio version, and here it is! Alex's suave version of Flowerpot is refreshing. The song takes a slightly different pitch than the original (see track three), suiting Alex's vocals perfectly. He sings softly and sweetly during the verses, and when his voice gets slightly higher and more passionate... it's amazing. Flowerpot is very much a Loveholic song in its arrangement and use of particular instruments, but Alex pulls of the "soft rock" genre quite well. His gentle, warm, velvety vocals sound better than ever in the raw environment of the song. Also included on the single are Clazziquai's romantic, sophisticaed Romeo 'N Juliet and Loveholic's original Flowerpot. Jisun's breathy vocals set the sincere, hopeful atmosphere immediately. The strength of the instruments in the chorus carry the song along seamlessly, climaxing where appropriate. Jisun softens her vocals again after the chorus, temporarily exposing vulnerability, before passionately soaring into the chorus once more. Even though this single is most likely a marketing ploy (with only one new song), it's definitely got me hooked. Clazziquai and Loveholic are always a guaranteed fantastic listen! Great single.
