strap together some code to a very capable video card, and you get something a little like this:

fr-041: d e b r i s: seven minutes of art in a 177KB package from Adidas on Vimeo.

the ironic thing is that the vimeo file itself is some 16 megs! hrmn... 0.177MB vs 16MB...

If the Dow has risen 3.3 percent or more in October, the incumbent party has never lost. If the Dow has dropped 0.5 percent or more, the incumbent party has never won. [SFO Magazine]

sober_table1.jpgThat is until 2004. See? Bush manages to screw EVERYTHING up!

Ravel - Piano Trio in A Minor: I. Modéré
i absolutely love the impressionist era

Brahms - String Sextet No. 1 in B-Flat, Op. 18: II. Andante, ma Moderato

Tchaikovsky - String Quartet in D Major, Op. 11: I. Moderato e semplice & II. Andante cantabile
very melancholy... i love it!

i don't know if it's the late hours staying at work that's catching up with me, but my blood boiled when i read this off metafilter:

"Last month (Sept. 16, 2008) the American taxpayers bailed out insurance giant American International Group (AIG) to the tune of $85 billion dollars. So, asked "what ya' goin' do now after the bailout?" top executives said "party it up at the St. Regis Resort Monarch Beach (Dana Point, CA) for a week (September 22 - 30, 2008). Total costs? Invoice: $443,343.71. "$200,000 dollars for hotel rooms. Almost $150,000 for catered banquets. AIG spent $23,000 at the hotel spa and another $1,400 at the salon." Said Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD): "They were getting manicures, facials, pedicures and massages while American people were footing the bill. And they spent another $10,000 dollars for I don't know what this is, leisure dining. Bars?""

I mean, wtf?! Here's the bill:

AIGinvoice.jpg
AIG's defense? We don't want our employees to run away from our company, so we threw them a kick-ass party and spent almost half a million dollars on it. pfft, whatever.

I hate the lack of accountability our country has, and people in this country in general. Assume responsibility folks, otherwise people (or companies) will just fuck you over! The bailout is necessary and all, I'll agree to that just so our economy doesn't go down the shitter, but keep an eye on those who fucked this all up in the first place so they don't squander even more of our tax dollars on shit like this.

Here's part of the congressional hearing (the volume's kind of low...):
